Pudong Airport terminals 1 and 2 connect to Metro Line 2. At Hongqiao, Terminal 1 has Line 10, while Terminal 2 has Lines 2 and 10. These are different boarding points: write down your airport and terminal before planning the onward trip. The airport operator provides separate terminal maps and points travelers to the metro operator for the full network. For a hospital visit, compare the route to the actual campus entrance with the route to your hotel. Ask your contact for the Chinese campus address and nearest accessible entrance, rather than relying on the hospital name alone.
Scope: Terminal-specific rail connections at Pudong and Hongqiao airports; consult the operator for service changes.
The Airport Link Line joins Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 with Pudong Airport terminals 1 and 2; the municipal guide describes an approximately 40-minute train journey. This is airport-to-airport travel time, not a promise of reaching a downtown appointment in that time. The guide distinguishes an in-station interchange with Line 9 at Zhongchun Road from out-of-station interchanges elsewhere. If you arrive by high-speed train at Hongqiao Railway Station, allow for the walk to the airport-side connection and follow local signs. Check the current operator timetable before relying on an early or late connection, particularly when managing luggage or limited mobility.
Scope: Airport-to-airport railway and interchange arrangements; journey time excludes airport formalities and walking.

Check the airport bus destination, not just the route number
Shanghai Airport Authority publishes bus tables with terminal departures, intermediate stops, destinations and operating hours. Its Pudong listings include a route to Shanghai Railway Station and an overnight route toward Hongqiao. Use the stop names to decide whether a bus actually brings you closer to your accommodation. An airport bus ending at a railway station still leaves a final journey to the hospital. For late arrivals, check the current night-service row and the exact boarding terminal; do not infer that the daytime service runs overnight.
Scope: Official route tables for airport buses; hours and stopping patterns can change.
Shanghai's municipal service guide describes a public network of city-level hospitals, district-level hospitals and neighborhood health centers. It also distinguishes ordinary departments from VIP or international departments within public hospitals, and from separately operated private institutions. A hospital name therefore does not identify the service tier you are buying. Ask which department and campus your enquiry concerns, then compare the corresponding consultation fee, tests and other charges. The published ordinary registration figures on our price page apply only to the ordinary public-care reference; they are not an estimate for an international department.
Scope: Citywide orientation to public-care tiers and separate VIP/private services; not confirmation of a particular appointment or language service.

Confirm the practical arrangements with the department
The municipal guide lists hospital hotlines, in-person arrangements and hospital WeChat accounts as appointment channels. Use the institution's own published contact details to ask whether your passport can be registered through your chosen channel. Ask separately about language support for the consultation, test instructions and written report, and about the exact insurer and policy if seeking direct billing. These are questions to settle before travel, not services we have confirmed for every Shanghai hospital. A published description of bilingual or insured care does not reserve an appointment or establish coverage for your visit.
Scope: Citywide orientation to public-care tiers and separate VIP/private services; not confirmation of a particular appointment or language service.

Health screening
A health check needs a defined scope
The city's health-check overview describes services in public hospitals, private hospitals and dedicated checkup settings. It discusses different examination components, but it is not a standardized package menu. When contacting a Shanghai screening center, request the actual item list and exclusions for your chosen package, the examination address, preparation instructions, report language and the arrangements for discussing results. Ask a qualified clinician which items fit your circumstances. Do not choose extra imaging simply because a larger package contains it. Also ask how any recommended follow-up consultation would be booked and billed after the screening.
Scope: Description of local checkup settings; this guide does not endorse the article's promotional claims or recommend its list of tests to every reader.

Keep immigration examinations separate from a voluntary checkup
Shanghai International Travel Healthcare Center at 15 Jinbang Road has a distinct administrative examination route for relevant applicants planning to live, work or study for a year or longer. This is different from booking a voluntary screening package during a short visit. The official guidance provides identity-document and supporting-document requirements, as well as arrangements for reviewing overseas examination records. If you need a certificate for a residence-related application, confirm the required examination with the center and the receiving authority before paying for a commercial package. Check the current appointment and certificate-collection instructions directly rather than assuming a general hospital report will be accepted.
Scope: Administrative health examination for relevant long-term residence applicants; verify the current document list and collection arrangements directly.
Contact the institution to confirm whether it can handle your enquiry, the appointment process, language support and an itemized estimate. A directory entry is not a booking or a clinical recommendation.
